Hawaii- Day 2

What a great day in Kauai! It is so beautiful here. Our highlights of the day are:

  • Going for a jog this morning around Poipu- the area where we are staying. After returning to our condo after our jog, we saw our little rental car and realized that it is not yellow- it is actually orange (last night in the dark, however, it really looked yellow). It's pretty cute and was fun to cruise around in today.

  • This morning we went to Old Kalua town where they had some really cute little shops, including a soap and candle making store, and we ate breakfast at this little grill where I was able to finally get some fresh pineapple. It was delicious!

  • This afternoon we went kayaking on the Wailua River. We kayaked for about an hour, then we had a mile hike to Secret Falls. It was beautiful!! I'm proud to say that Andy and I were the fastest paddlers in our group of people (we were the first kayak up to the falls and back down) and we were also the first people brave enough to swim in and under the falls. So fun!!

  • My sister, Amy, had Tanner leave us the cutest message on Andy's cell phone. It totally made our day!
  • Tonight we went for a post-sunset walk along the beach. We stopped to sit in a swing and watch the ocean. We could hear a band playing Hawaiian music in the background while we talked and watched the waves- the perfect ending to a great day!!

Thanks for letting me watch the boys. It really was a lot of fun--and a great self-esteem builder--nothing like being told "yeah Amy, you did it" for doing the simplest of tasks like kicking a ball, screwing on the top of the sippy cup or turning on the TV. The boys were great and it was fun helping Tanner leave you a message.
