Feel the Love

My Birthday Wishlist

Dear Andy,

My birthday is only a week away.. thought I would give you some ideas of what you can get me.
A topiary (not really this one, I would like a living one.... use your imagination) 9 of these beauties (you can even pick the color or assortment of colors) This cookbook This pillow (or if you're really brave there's one just like it in the store but it's got an orange background instead of brown.)Thanks! I love you!!

One Wild Rumpus

What a fun party for my sweet Max. It's the little details that can really make a party great- but usually I run out of time, energy, money... to put much into those details. Lucky for me I have a very crafty and generous friend who helped me out with the details. Pretty much the cutest kid party I've ever done- really the pictures do not do justice. Thanks Amy for all of your ideas and help!
The Invitations: The Party Favors: orange 'wild thing' fangs, crowns, and Jr. Mints to take home The Decor: I could kick myself for not taking a picture of the food table. It was really so cute with another one of those big trees, the wild thing cake, cupcakes with crowns, and all sorts of yummy food spread all around. Before we cleaned up for the night I did snap a picture of the 'backdrop' of the food table- this cute vine and a picture banner (okay, I ran out of time to tie them all together before the party) of Max at every month.

The King Himself sporting his crown (knitted by my sister Amy)
Some of the Wild Things enjoying their dinner
The Cake: I swear I took a picture of this cake by itself in all of its glory (I was pretty proud of it)- but apparently I didn't. Luckily Michele snapped this picture before I handed it over to Max.
Max getting his first real taste of sugar... he was a fan. He never really dug into the cake but rather dipped his finger in the frosting and kept licking.
Happy Birthday Max, the king of all wild things. We love you!!

Tanner's 4th Birthday

Saying that Tanner was excited for his birthday would be quite the understatement. It was all he could talk about for weeks. One thing he was looking forward to was going to Primary on his birthday and having them sing to him. When I walked him to Primary I told the Primary President how excited he was for the singing. During opening exercises, the Primary President said "I don't believe we have any birthdays today." Tanner jumped right up and exclaimed "We do. It's my birthday." Then he danced his way up to the front so they could sing to him. That evening was pretty low key. We had family over for cake and icecream and then invited everyone to come with us to see the lights at Temple Square. The Birthday Boy sporting his new "4" shirt and eating his favorite food for dinner- pancakes (I'm not complaining, easiest dinner for me to make) Cannon and Max gave Tanner the game "Gator Golf".

After presents, we ate these cupcakes
Then some of us headed down to Temple Square to see the lights. It was fun for Tanner (and us) to see the lights with all of his cousins (well, at least all that live in Utah). Thanks for loving our boy!!
Happy Birthday My Sweet Tanner!!

Tanner's 4th Birthday Friends Party

The Invitations:
The Cake (I was pretty proud of this sucker at the time- now looking at it perhaps I should have just splurged on the Train Cake Pan):
The Activities: We read The Polar Express and drank hot chocolate. We also played a version of Pin the tail on the donkey, but with a snowman. Unfortunately there are no pictures of these events because we videotaped.
The Guest of Honor: Santa Claus. Each of the kids (and some younger siblings) had a chance to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Then Santa sang Christmas songs with us.
It was a successful and fun party! Tanner had a blast and feels so grown up. Thanks to all of his friends for coming and celebrating Tanner with us!!

Max at 11 Months

My Sweet Baby- can't believe you're almost a year. Here's the update on you at 11 Months:
*You have 3 teeth- getting that 3rd tooth in must have been extremely painful because you didn't sleep for about a week.

*You climb upstairs, in the dishwasher, on top of toys and boxes, in the cupboards... gotta keep my eye on you

*Your favorite game is emptying the mixing bowl and tupperware cupboard. After you broke one of my small serving bowls rubberbands were placed on the knobs of all the other cupboards.

*You giggle like a maniac when I tickle your thighs

*At night I rub your back and sing to you before I put you in your crib, if I stop rubbing your back you start to rub my arm as if to tell me 'don't stop'.

*Blowing kisses and waving bye-bye to people is your best trick

*Although you don't really say any words on command, when we ask you what a lion says you growl- SO cute.

*You are still a Momma's boy

Now I would never wish for you to stop growing (we're actually kind of worried about you little guy), but if time could slow down just a little....

Utah vs. San Diego

Today we took the boys to the UofU football game. They were pretty interested for about a quarter- mostly interested in the tackling. I managed to 'catch' two shirts from the Crimson Line girls, while holding Max. (I so generously gave Cameron one of the shirts, I'm such a nice sister- but then he was very sweet and gave it to Josh). Andy was actually really excited to get a t-shirt. He told me now he has his team's shirt to wear on Fridays at work. I felt kind of bad (if I would have known that his co-workers wear their team shirts on Fridays I would have purchased him one at the beginning of football season) but then I jokingly told him that maybe when he graduates for the third time from the University of Utah I will buy him a Utah shirt. Good football game- we smoked them- great nachos, and fun times. Also, Tanner sang the "BYU stinks like poo" song at least 20 times.

Blast that 4 Gig memory stick...

I just downloaded 1,343 photos from my camera. I really should do that more often. Be prepared for a lot of catching up posts!!
